You all know the refrain: Wake me up when September ends. Feh. I’m going away for a week. Perhaps something Gigantically magic will spring from the greensward while I’m away, like a huge beanstalk that transports half this team to their eternal reward in the sky. Sayonara, suckers.
I tried that, Lefty. I went to Spain the last 10 days of May, and early June. It didn't help. I have been very optimistic, but this is beginning to look irreversible. When you get back they will be 7-12 games back. Time to get a couple of good books.
Thx for the shout out below (aimed at me, correct?) - I've tried to be quiet this year because there's nothing good to say about their everyday lineup. Lefty, you remember how I felt about a YOUNG Richie Macho? How bout an old one. And of course, any season in which you look up and Pedro is still a starter is doomed to start. ANd the bullpen. OH MY GOD. All that said, the starting pitching gives me hope for the future. As for Barry Zito ... my A's friends are laughing all the way to the "Stabbin' Cabin." They knew ... they knew.
I agree with bigO -- Bonds *thinks* he's seeing the ball, but isn't. The way he looked against Okeydokey on Saturday was just sad...those inside pitches used to be his wheelhouse. They say when they go, they go fast.
I'm heading to Europe this week and won't even bother with the international papers...it's only bad news.
Hey-did anyone hear that Juan Marichal will be at the Bank of America at 1 Powell Street from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the banking center at Market & Van Ness from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow signing autographs for free? Rowand-Guillen-Lowell should be our offseason chant.
Go out and get Aaron Rowand, Carlos Guillen (1B), and Mike Lowell in free agency and start a new era of Giants baseball.
Anyone like it?
Nevermind, Guillen signed an extension apparantly.
Yea I just read it quick and assuemd you meant Jose Guillen. I was pretty confused as to how those 3 would be any help.
Take your time coming back, Lefty. We'll keep the win column just like you remember it.
