Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper have interviewed Bonds in a way only former players could interview him — some questions that get to the heart of the game, and some puffy softballs — and although his stream of consciousness and syntax is as convoluted as ever, I’ve never seen him so relaxed. Note how large his dad looms in the way he talks about himself. He also admits getting signs relayed via cell phone from his dad, who was watching on TV, to his wife sitting in the stands.
