Her second day on the planet, La Malita was ecstatic, mom and dad were bowled over with love, and everything in the world was good and true. Then we broke the news: the Giants last made the playoffs in 2003 and might not do so for many years to come. Even worse, the Rockies were in the World Series.

She got over it, but the experience left her cynical, angry, and paranoid, just like our Vice President. She’s working on her impression.

 

 

 If you squint, she also looks a bit like Matt Cain, which I hope isn’t true (for either her sake or Matt Cain’s sake) by the time spring training starts.
