On my lunch break I turned on the radio to hear Ishikawa hit a two-run homer, Velez steal a base, and Schierholtz hit a two-run homer. Best leftover chicken I’ve had in a long time.
EVENING UPDATE: In the recap of today’s game, Ishikawa said a tip from Aaron Rowand has helped him at the plate: “During batting practice, Ishikawa related that he was struggling with where to look before the pitcher releases the ball. Learning that Ishikawa was focusing on the top of the pitcher's cap, Rowand suggested switching his gaze to an area in front of the pitcher's face, which is closer to his release point.”
This is a great idea. I’m going to try it. My team has a practice game this weekend; if I hit two home runs and drive in four, Aaron Rowand will be my new and forever favorite Giant.
