4/2 Post Game Report (Was "Warm-Up")

POST-GAME UPDATE: Ha. "Warm-Up." It was fershlugginer freezing out there tonight, and the nasty wind made for some adventures in the outfield. Anything that got up into the jet stream took off, like Pablo Sandoval's first inning fly ball that carried half way up the brick wall in straightaway right. Sandoval later hit a down-and-in pitch on a high liner to right center that carried well past Rajai Davis's bad angle (again, probably because of the wind). Wind or no, it was an amazing piece of hitting, and when he got motoring it was an easy triple. He might be Little Money, but he's no Molina in the speed category. Sandoval also hit a line-drive single while so far out on his front foot that I swear his back foot lifted off the ground as he made contact.

Sandoval also booted two grounders, which makes me very nervous.

Let's see, what else? Lincecum was guh-nasty except for the high fastball Eric Chavez cranked over the center field wall. I liked seeing Jeremy Affeldt touch 96 on the in-house gun. Randy Winn did a great lead-off job with three walks. Do that every game, Randy, and I don't care if you hit .000 on the year. Edgar Renteria had a solid game: a single walk, a sac fly to center, and a couple nice plays at short, one going up the middle, the other on a ball Sandoval booted. It popped into the air, Renteria grabbed it, threw from deep in the hole and seemed to get the runner. The ump didn't agree.

I'll be at the game tonight, watching Tim Lincecum throw a few meaningless innings and hoping for some Buster lovin'. If you're going, come say hi to me and Elbo: Section 138 (LF bleachers), Row 3, Seats 3 and 4.
