Unlike the Pittsburgh Pirates, they have last year's AL Cy Young winner on their staff, plus the extremely handsome Cole Hamels. The Giants could face Lee, Hamels, and yet another lefty Jamie Moyer, whose 78-MPH offerings are sure to baffle anyone wearing French vanilla.
If the Giants, who throw Sanchez, Sadowski, Lincecum and Zito in the series, can win three of four, I will take it as a sign from various multi-limbed deities whose mecurial temperments have awed illiterate villagers for millennia. What is this sign, you ask? Behold: Brian Sabean, you are a bold man, and we approve of your virile instinct, though on another day when we have exhausted ourselves creating the Himalaya, we might find your boldness to be laughable human arrogance, and we might punish you by sending several high line drives toward Eugenio Velez in left field.
Even a split would be nice, to be honest.
The next question: Whom does F. Sanchez replace on the 25 and 40-man rosters? Probably Velez on the former, o cruelty, as Ay-Yoo has played great baseball since his promotion. On the 40-man, I'll bet Brian Bocock gets bumped. Or, if you prefer, stiffed.
