SF 6, FLA 4: Do The Giants Really Need to Make a Trade?

Vote 1 Vote
Not if they keep scoring runs off pitchers like Josh Johnson and Ubaldo Jimenez and they only need a couple innings of relief per game, with one of those innings supplied by an indefatigable Brian Wilson.

It's exciting times down there in the flatlands. But up at 6200 feet you get yourself some perspective, and you realize one morning soon this team has to wake up and smell the Latos. And even if the Giants edge past the Pods for the division, there are the Atlantas and St. Louises and, heaven be praised if this were ever to occur, the New York Americans (probably) to contend with.

I hear you. I'm not into mortgaging the future to plump up a highly speculative present. If the Orioles insist upon Thomas Neal for Will Ohman, or the Royals demand Jonathan Sanchez for Jose Guillen, I say pull up anchor and get the hell out of that harbor. Otherwise, incremental improvements are a very good thing. Though I'm really not sure about Jose Guillen. Jose Guillen? Really?
