OK, so this "gain a game on the Padres every two weeks" thing that I proposed Sunday night hasn't gotten off to a promising start. The Giants have actually lost 3.5 games in the standings to San Diego in four days. As the broadcasters astutely pointed out in the post-game wrap tonight, everyone on the team kinda sucks right now, and Bochy needs to pull a little frivolity out of his skipper toolbox to loosen everyone up. Mike Krukow proposed raiding a series of hotel mini-bars. Woo-hoo! It's either that or pray for a downpour and do a rain-delay slip 'n' slide party on the wet tarp. Are players still allowed to do that? Apparently so.
